THE 'REFUGE, MISIÓN MEXICO, DANDO AMOR, VIDA Y ESPERANZA. A.C.' HAS HELPED THESE CHILDREN BY SUPPLYING FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION UNTIL FAMILY CAN BE LOCATED TO COME AND COLLECT THEM. THE CHILDREN USUALLY HAVE SUFFERED SOME SORT OF TRAUMA BUT SOON SETTLE INTO THE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT OF THE REFUGE WITH SOME CHILDREN NOT WANTING TO LEAVE .
AT TIMES, THE REFUGE IS ASKED TO HELP CHILDREN WHO NEED MEDICATION, WHOSE PARENTS ARE FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED.
"Recently, we were asked to help a baby of four months, who was in hospital with a serious condition and needed medication that the parents could not afford, as here, you have to buy your own medication."
"The family had exausted all other avenues so came to us for help, which we did."
"Later, we visited the baby and while we were there at the hospital, the father was handed another note for more medication, so we took him to a pharmacy and bought what was needed."
"A week later, the father was at the door once again seeking help, but this time it was for the release of the baby from hospital, if you don´t pay they don´t let you take your child."
THE REFUGE IS BASICALLY FUNDED BY INDIVIDUALS IN AUSTRALIA WITH A NUMBER OF GENEROUS PEOPLE IN MEXICO SUPPORTING THE REFUGE WITH DONATIONS OF ITEMS, CLASSES AND HELP.
VOLUNTEERS FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, ALSO DONATE THEIR TIME AND ENERGY FOR SHORT OR LONG PERIODS.

THE BASIC FOOD ITEMS, SUCH AS RICE, BEANS, SUGAR, OIL AND POWDERED MILK ARE SUPPLIED BY THE WELFARE DEPARTMENT, 'IDH'. THE 'IDH' MUNICIPAL AND THE 'IDH' REGIONAL GIVE INVALUABLE SUPPORT IN MANY OTHER AREAS.
OVER THE YEARS THE REFUGE HAS BEEN IN RENTED HOUSES AND AT THIS MOMENT IS SITUATED IN A BUILDING SUPPLIED BY THE GOVERNMENT. THE BUILDING HAS MANY PROBLEMS AND IS NOT REALLY SUITABLE FOR A REFUGE SUCH AS THIS. THERE IS ALSO THE THREAT THAT THEY WILL WANT THE BUILDING BACK AT ANY TIME. THEREFORE, THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A PERMANENT HOME FOR THESE VERY SPECIAL CHILDREN THEIR CARE.
THOUGH FUNDS ARE LIMITED, LITTLE BY LITTLE THEY ARE RENOVATING A VERY OLD BUILDING THAT WAS USED AS A CARPENTERS WORKSHOP.

"We desperately need more room for the children. The bedrooms are overcrowded and the children don't have a yard to play in. Our goal is to raise the funds needed to finish the construction in progress and give these children the space that they need."
THE 'ALBERGUE, MISIÓN MEXICO, DANDO AMOR, VIDA Y ESPERANZA. AC' IS IN NEED OF HELP FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW REFUGE AND IS APPEALING FOR SUPPORT.
